Every electronic collectable I have listed this week and will list in the next several weeks have all come from one truly amazing estate. The Nelson estate includes hundreds of items new in the boxes from the 60's 70's 80's and 90's. Many of the items you may see listed three or even four different times. Box after box of all vintage un-opened radios, amplifiers, tuners, turntables, speakers, reel to reels, headphones, vacuum tubes, microphones and so much more.
There will be no particular order that we list in so check back often. Mr. Nelson bought everything from rare high-end audio to collectable clock radios and walkmans. Unopened Heathkits, Dynaco preamps, stacks of radio's, even old Zenith TV's sealed in there boxes. The items that Mr. Nelson did open he would meticulously re-wrap in the original packaging. Opened items would carefully get placed back in there boxes.
The instructions, inserts and whatever else were all included and then RE-SEALED. Most items have been stored like this for the last 10 to 50 years. Some items we acquired did not have the boxes but it didn't matter. Everything looked as if it was removed from the box only yesterday. I'm well aware that this probably sounds like a ridicules and unbelievable story. Mr. Nelson was obviously a very eccentric man. He lived alone and money must have been no object.
Why Mr. Nelson bought the same items several different times and then left them unopened for years is a mystery to all of us. He surrounded himself with a massive amount of awesome equipment and collectable electronic history. I can't say why he did this but I can say I wish I had the chance to met him and find out.
