Blackfield is a collaboratory musical group between Porcupine Tree founder and lead singer Steven Wilson and Israeli rock singer Aviv Geffen.
Two years back and forth on the London, England - Tel Aviv, Israel flight path, a mutual artistic curiosity, and a close friendship gave birth to the Blackfield project.
There is no clear definition of Blackfield’s music style which is a fusion of the classic rock music combined with a lot of slow and emotional parts – with massive use of piano sounds – but not like the “bombast rock” Meat Loaf does – and a change in style within a song from rock to pop and the other way round.
