Many of you are asking about the hymn. It was written by Kolbeinn Tumason in 1208 and the music composed by Þorkell Sigurbjörnsson (1938-2013, one of Iceland’s foremost composers in the 20th Century) in the 1970′s. While we and all Icelanders have the utmost admiration for this choral adaptation of the oldest known Scandinavian hymn, the feedback for our humble rendition has far exceeded our wildest expectations. Thank you!
To give some love right back, we are giving away a free mp3 of our song “Þér ég unni”. It was recorded live at the beautiful Dreikönigskirsche Church in Dresden five days after we shot the youtube video.
