Och idag bekräftades:

Red Hot Chili Peppers is the first big act in 2007.

After a period of expectant whispering in the corners, we are now ready to draw the curtains slightly aside for the music playing this summer. We are looking forward to reintroducing a band who has enjoyed huge success, both commercially and among the critics.

Roskilde Festival hosts Björk's only Scandinavian show this summer.

Following last week's announcement of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, we now proudly unveil another world-class artist. The Icelandic phenomenon Björk will play Roskilde Festival. This will be her only show in Scandinavia this summer, so fans of Björk in the Nordic countries would be wise to purchase their ticket now.

BJÖRK (ISL) has spellbound the whole world with her unique mixture of electronics and organic force. She is adored across usual music preferences. Her music contains sustenance for people with a penchant for both challenging electronica and experimental instrumentation - but always leaving room for a catchy pop tune as well. In concert the elf girl comes across with a unique intimacy and presence.

We are looking forward to having Björk play again. The last time she visited the festival was in 2003 when she closed the festival with a sublime grand finale. 50,000 people otherwise full on musical experiences fell in love with the troll girl from Iceland that very night - the Danish media found the show to be one of the very best in Roskilde Festival's recent history.

Är Björk någe kul live? Tyckte det var ruggigt trevligt när hon gästade Vattenfestivalen.

Såg en väldigt bra film (Prag) på Draken (filmfestivalen) för några timmar sen och innan den bjöds vi en suggestiv kortfilm (Kyrie Eleison) på 15 minuter, där Björk bidrog med sakral sång till en stråkkvartett och svepande bilder på lerfigurer. Faktiskt.se en stor musikupplevelse, även om själva filmen var väl konstnärlig för min smak. En udda men högst trevlig upplevelse att avnjuta Björks fantastiska stämma, i sällskap med en knökad och andäktig biosalong! Nu - exakt ett halvår innan festivalen - börjar jag längta till Roskilde på allvar.

THE WHO (UK) characterised the youth rebellion in the 60s with the anthem "My Generation." The masterpiece Who's Next and the rock opera Tommy have long since placed the band in the essential Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. Having released Endless Wire in 2006, Roger Daltrey and Pete Towshend are now ready for more than merely giving a history lesson in rock music, and prove that the old dinosaur still has an edge and a bite.

The Who is regarded by numerous media as one of the best live bands in the world, and on their latest North American tour in the spring of 2006 the band took three generations of music fans by storm. The Who plays all the classics - that parts of the audience grew up with - as well as new material, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the old gems.

With a four-decade-spanning career the band is a pioneer when it comes to loud music, trashed gear and rock festivals. Without The Who, rock music and live shows of today would undoubtedly have had a different and more controlled expression. We are proud to let loose more primordial forces of rock history this summer.

Du glömmer att det finns en ny generation unga rockers som tycker det är fantastiskt att kunna se rockens verkliga banbrytare live, så här 40 år senare...

"Parkinson" var nästan passande...

Kan i sammanhanget rekommendera DVD:n "Live at Royal Albert Hall" från 2001. Riktigt bra konsert, bortsett från Roger Daltrey som kraxar som en kråka - i slutet dras hans mikronfon ner nästan till ohörbarhet. Det gör nu inte så mycket - gästartisterna kompenserar mer än väl, bland andra Paul Weller i akustiska "So Sad About Us" och Bryan Adams som gör en chockerande bra insats i "Behind Blue Eyes". Bra DTS-ljud, men som vanligt alltför snabba klipp.

BEASTIE BOYS (US) are still one of the most important and influential figures in hip hop with their trendsetting videos and total lack of musical shyness.

THE KILLERS (US) plays grandiose and epic rock in the vein of especially Springsteen and U2.

MANDO DIAO (S) have it all: rocking riffs, catchy tunes and a faultless blend of NYC garage rock and britpop conceived in provincial Sweden.

PETER BJORN AND JOHN (S) shifts between a shoegazing sound softer than butter left out in the sun, and the strong, melodic craft of folk pop. But genre definitions are unneccesary here - these frictionless tunes would withstand almost every conceivable treatment.

QUIT YOUR DAYJOB (S) deliver short punk rock songs containing cheeky lyrics and titles such as "Pissing on a Panda." Surf and electro are let into the lowbrow universe - and singer Jonass often sounds like an unknown son or grandson of Jello Biafra from southern Sweden.

Rock, punk, hip hop, indie: All trends are present in this week's announcement with a wide span both musically and geographically - from the big city of New York to the Swedish province, from imposing stadium rock to humorous surf-punk.
