The steps of the solution are ;
Uninstall LMS and PERL if they are already installed on Synology.
Disable Auto-Update from Synology Package Center settings if it is currently enabled
(Recommended by me) If you have multiple drives on Synology and have at least one fast SSD drive, change the default package installation volume to your fast SSD drive from Synology Package Center settings.
Be sure that Auto-Update is disabled before this step. Install manually Perl-i686-5.24.0-0071.spk file under
https://archive.synology.com/download/P ... .24.0-0071Now that you have installed Perl with an old compatible version, it is time to find the compatible LMS 8.X spk file for DSM 6.X and Synology DS214PLay. There's a german web page for that..
https://www.abacus-electronics.de/forum ... f=31&t=317Before installing the following file, be sure that your default installation Volume is one of your SSD drives so that LMS can run faster. Install the file
https://www.abacus-electronics.de/aroio ... 166211.spk from the page(there are 3 alternatives listed for Synology DS214Play. Install the most up-to-date version that you do not receive error when you try to install manually. I have received error for LMS 8.1.X). Please note that for LMS Tidal integration, you should at least install MS 8.0.x.
After the installation is completed, you'll see that everything is working including the LMS Tidal integration. Just open the LMS interface and make the settings(squeezebox account, mount drive for your audio files etc). I have a dedicated PI4-based music streamer running in the same network. When it is on and active, LMS automatically detects it and use it as a remote player.
