Jag fortsätter sommarens utforskning av då- och nutida popmusik från Frankrike. Lio är syntpop från tidigt 80-tal. Hennes två första album kom på cd först 1996 så jag garderade mig ljudkvalitetsmässigt genom att också beställa den första cd-samlingen från 1987. Veronique Sanson har de senaste decennierna gjort ointressant MOR-musik men hennes debutalbum ”Amoureuse” från 1972 har jämförts med Francoise Hardys utgivningar från samma period.

Dagens glädjebesked: remixen av Dr. Albans ”It’s my life”, den så kallade ”Ragadag remix”, är till synes rakt överförd till samlingen ”Coma Records – The album 3” från 1992! Detta är så intressant att jag utnyttjar undantagsklausulen och publicerar en MasVis-bild i skivinköpstråden:

På baksidan av maxisingeln med Eruption beskrivs de tekniska fördelarna - större dynamik, frekvensomfång och signal/störavstånd - med den så kallade "super sound single" som var skivbolaget Hansas varumärke. Jag har inte lyssnat än.

Samlingsskivan med musik från skivbolaget Red Bird har underrubriken “very first time in true stereo 1964-66” och kan ses som en fortsättning på en samling på Taragon som kom 1998. Man har här med mestadels gott resultat mixat om de minimalistiska produktionerna från flerkanalsbanden. Jag är normalt skeptisk till förfarandet eftersom jag vill höra originalproduktionerna men i det här fallet, med okomplicerade tagningar utan pålägg och med folk som verkar veta vad de gör, fungerar det riktigt bra. Det klingar generellt betydligt renare än motsvarande originalutgåvor som har getts ut i högst varierande kvalitet på kompaktskiva genom åren. Jag hoppas förstås att den senare utgåva håller samma goda kvalitet som den tidigare.
