Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are in line with Talking Heads’ funky art-pop and roams the same musical territory as Arcade Fire, but in their very own extraordinary fashion. The band’s cutting-edge, danceable guitar-pop forms an expression one can only clap hard and incessantly at. Fully understandable that CYHSY have become the the indie darlings in the US.
Coheed & Cambria's prog-rock with emo tendencies is grandiose and punk at the same time. Musically, the band takes off in multiple directions with a countless number of melodies, tempi and genre influences – and yet it all makes perfect sense.
Serena-Maneesh have caused massive anticipation far beyond their native Norway with an exploration of the melodic paradoxes of rock history. They let angelic pop symphonies, distorted noise rock and dreamy, hypnotic sound trips unite in perfect symbiosis.
Sterling make an effective update of Danish pop music in a similar vein as classic Danish acts TV-2 and Kliché*. Sterling’s tilted pop songs with frayed edges and melodic aptitude are delivered with a presence that flashes as genuinely as the silver mixture from which the band has its name.
Wolfmother produce a fully loaded and modern update of prog-rock – as if Cream met Led Zeppelin – and bring new blood and a fresh zest to the old school. They manage to play songs which already smell deliciously like classics despite their freshness.
