Metallica återsläpp på vinyl

METALLICA's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"While we're finishing up the new album, we told the dudes at the record company we thought it might be cool to dust off the old tapes and get all retro with some vinyl re-releases... First up are the first two albums (duh!?), 'Kill 'Em All' and 'Ride the Lightning', coming out on April 15 in North America and pretty fucking close to that in the rest of the world.

"There will be two versions...one like the original on a single disc spinning at 33 1/3, the other a two disc, 180-gram vinyl, 45 rpm package all in a double gatefold. The music was half speed mastered from the original analog tapes at Mobile Fidelity to bring you audiophile quality. Both versions will be available in the online store here and over at MetClub.

"Oh, and in case you were wondering, 'Master' and 'Justice' will obviously be next and should be coming out on vinyl in June."

"...and justice for all" är en väldigt bra skiva med en fantastiskt USEL mixning.

Hoppas dom mastrar om den så det kommer finnas i alla fall liiiite bas, eller ännu hellre mixar om den.

Justice... fanns på dubbel vinyl, den låter om jag inte missminner okej.

I alla fall inte för den där nye killen... Jason .
Han kan knappt höras överhuvudtaget, ju.

Ja detta låter kul! Det gjordes ju någon audiofil 24k goldremaster på master och ride men dessa släpptes ju bara på cd. Kill em all låter ju rätt kasst på cd så den ser jag mest fram emot.

Ja jag kan inte tänka mig att de i efterhand petar i mixen på den skivan. Den är ju förvisso mixad av en trummis med alkoholisthybris och låter därefter...så det skulle vara kul att sänka trummorna lite och dra upp basen lite. Gitarrljudet älskar jag på den skivan..hårt och bra!

Från Wikipedia: "As said by the band in their magazine SO WHAT!, they wish that they could re-mix the entire album because the drums and guitar overpower the bass completely."

Förstår inte vad som stoppar dom... annat än möjligen om något klappträ till dumhuvud har supit bort råmaterialet.

Ge oss en revision två.

Dom CD skivorna, släppta av DCC, har jag på...hmm, flac och dom är MYCKET bättre än mina 45 varv musci for nation vinyler. Kill 'em all låter mycket bra (rått och hård) på megaforce släppet, den är versionen att slå.

För dom som är intresserade så kan man jämföra nysläppet, Rhino boxen och DCC CDn av Fight fire från Ride the lightning här http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showpost.php?p=3415467&postcount=161

Lite åsikter om nysläppen:

"My Megaforce KEA vinyl sounds better than this MFSL - the DCC RTL is better. I actually prefer the Vinyl DMM versions of these albums over the MFSL re-issues ( they maybe brittle but they are at least clear sounding) . What a let down - should be used to it, after 15 years....hahaha"

"I just got through the first disc of the RTL 45 set and I am very dissappointed. I thought it sounded very thin and, like others have said, it is very lacking on the low end"

"I just checked, and RTL is the only one I no longer have an original vinyl version of. I think it sounds a bit flatter/softer than the DCC CD, but there's still good dynamics."

"As promised, I spent more time with Ride The Lightning. Upon comparative listening with the DCC CD (I currently have no other RTL on vinyl) I have to say it's a let down.

I am hearing less bass, and a more flat sound. Not as enjoyable when compared in real time to the DCC CD."
